Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
The best method to keep your home clean is to use a robotic vacuum. It will nab pet hair, dust and other debris from the surface before it becomes a larger problem.

1. iRobot S8
This smart robot mop and vacuum is a fantastic option for a wide range of households. It is able to vacuum and mop well and has a great navigation system that includes both GPS and laser sensors and offers a broad range of features and controls that are available via the app. It also has a handy feature that lets you create Cleaning zones for specific areas that require extra attention, and also to keep Out zones that you don't want it to go. And, like all Roomba devices, it is updated with new software updates that make it better over time.
It's expensive, but it's is also one of the most advanced robot vacuums ZDNet has ever tested. It's equipped with a powerful battery that can vacuum a large home in under two hours. Additionally, it can switch between mopping and vacuuming at the touch of a button. It automatically emptys the trash bin that is above its charging station, unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the bin after every run.
It comes with a variety of other features that make it a good choice for homes of all sizes that include intelligent obstacle avoidance, which uses both a camera and processor-powered smarts to detect obstacles. It's not often damaged or stuck during a cleaning cycle, and it's the best at avoiding power cables as well as other objects I've tested. However, it isn't as effective in detecting pet waste or other dangers.
2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Although Anker-owned Eufy has earned a name for itself in budget robot vacuums, it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model which can also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of advanced features, and can compete with more expensive models.
The laser navigation is the primary selling point of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have built up an approximate map of your home utilizing infrared sensors and bumping into objects, but the X8's laser mapping technology is more precise. It also takes significantly less time to construct an accurate picture of your space and stores multiple maps, which is great for homes with multiple floors.
The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors that are clean. It is able to effortlessly sling debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are good at grabbing corners and edges. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur on hard floors.
The basic mopping mode uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is great for loose spills however, you aren't able to limit the amount of water it is using, which will limit its effectiveness on more severe staining. That said, it does an admirable job of removing pet hair, and has a higher speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.
3. Miele RX2
Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is renowned for its quiet, effective appliances. It is a stunning design, excellent navigation, and excellent cleaning power. There are a few niggles in its operation that prevent it from being considered the top smart robot vacuum.
The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technique which uses LIDAR to map an area, and a pair 3D scanning cameras for detecting and eliminating obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once the room is mapped the app allows you to designate virtual no-go zones and areas that you want to clean. will automatically clean. You can also manually change cleaning options, begin cleaning manually or see live feeds of the cameras onboard from the main screen.
The RX2 is equipped with excellent sensors that detect furniture and other obstructions in a flash. The suction and sweeping power are top-notch cleaning up surface debris from carpets of medium pile and dust on floors that are unfinished. It's not the fastest robotics available. As with many others, it's not a good climber and is prone to problems with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.
Some people buy robot vacuums because of the ease of setting up a schedule in an app, only to forget about them for weeks. However, it's essential that a robot is able to accomplish the task, which is why our ZDNet staff examined and reviewed a few of the most well-known models to help you select the best one for your home.

The controls are more basic than those of the competition's. There's a cleaning button at the top and you can choose to start it with the app or via voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also set up a schedule for your daily or weekly cleans, create no-go zones, and view its history of cleaning. Ion is covered in a stylish dark gray plastic that looks and feels beautiful in your home. Its rear dust bin is easy to access for emptying and removing the filter is equally easy.
5. Eufy 11S
If you're looking for a simple low-cost robot vacuum at a low cost, the Eufy11S could be a good choice. It isn't equipped with some of the smart features, such as digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are available in more expensive models, however, if you don't require these functions, you can save some cost with this model.
This robot is very easy to set up and use. It doesn't require a smartphone app or Wi-Fi pairing, but it does come with the ability to control the remote with a remote that lets you select various modes and adjust the suction level. You can also manually assign the robotvac to a cleaning schedule.
During our tests, we discovered that the 11S was extremely effective at getting pet fur and dirt from carpets with low pile and hard floors. Its slim profile made it possible to get under low-hanging furniture and other items that some heavier robots were unable to get at. It was also able to pass over doorway thresholds and change from one floor type to another.
Like other robots, the 11S will be able to suck up objects, such as cords drawstrings for hoodies and cat toys. The manufacturer suggests that you keep these items off the ground and using a cord organiser if possible. It also recommends that you regularly clean the dustbin, change the filters and change or wash the brushes when needed.
6. iRobot Roomba 980
The Roomba 980 is iRobot's most popular robot vacuum. It's costly, but it's an excellent performer and is arguably the most sophisticated robot vacuum available. Its self-navigating features and environmental mapping are a wonder to behold. It is more sophisticated in its automation than most of its rivals, for instance the ability to set up virtual boundary markers through its mobile application. It's a dependable robot vacuum, even though its app isn't the most responsive and the 980 spins out when it is pushed over cables.
We really like the 980 due to its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneity mapping and localisation (or vSLAM), to memorise your home's floor plan. It will use this data to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum than most competing high-end robot vacuums.
Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface rubber brushes which grab dirt from hard floors and carpet and an ejector brush that moves debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. Its floor tracking sensor helps it navigate between furniture, along edges and on the stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. And it automatically returns to its base station for hassle-free charging between sessions. While the 980's battery life and bin size aren't quite as efficient as other robot vacuums, it's a sturdy and reliable machine that will keep your floors clean for hours and hours.
